I AM BIBLE STUDY

1. How current is your God? Is he up to date on all your issues or do you have old hurts you still hold behind your back?
I believe that my God is up to date on my life, not only have I learnt to bring my confessions to Him but I have learnt to pour out my concerns of everyday life to Him so that there is place for Him to pour in More of His Spirit in my life. As I walk closer to God I find myself dealing with past hurts and been able to release them to Him, this has not happened over night but has been a process of learning and trusting Him, knowing that as I walk with Him I will not be hurt!
2. Has the enemy ever told you there are situations that are 'old news' that are better left stuffed down? Or perhaps because they were so long ago they can't possibly be affecting you now?
Yes! All he wants is for us to live in bondage under a yoke of slavery so that we never take the grace that is so freely given to us, he would rather us be bitter and twisted then walking in victory, in a battle that has already been won for us on Calvary 2000 years ago. Praise Jesus for the wonder victory we have in our lives that even when the enemy would have us stay in the valley God gives us mountain top experiences to hold on to. Don’t let the hurt of past cloud the victory that is obtained in Jesus today!
3. In the matter of established authority, does God truly reign in your life? Where are you when He calls your name?
I believe He has the highest authority in my life, and I hope that I am never to busy with life when He calls my name, that I would be like the little girl that is always dancing around her daddy, just enthralled with been around Him that she never leave and therefore is near when He calls her name, may I always be found at the feet of Jesus!
4. Do you ever feel God has forgotten you in your 'west side of the wilderness'?
There has been times when I have found that, but I know that the giants I sometimes face in the west side of life are sometimes only the enemy trying to keep me from my destiny! Praise God even for those moments that have taught me to have a undying faith that no matter where I am my God is always with me, and that I need to see west side of the wilderness as a growth experience and let me tell you when you come through them the enemy better watch out because I am going to shine brighter for Jesus! Phew hold me back girls I want to do a power hallelujah and all.
5. Have you ever experienced a time of cleansing where God has illuminated and rejuvenated you? If not, do you find you are in need of this now?
Oh yes oh yes, these past 2 weeks have been time of cleansing and rejuvenating I have been detoxing in the spirit, (not sure I can say that) God is cleansing and bringing a fresh anointing on my life one free of pride and man pleasing… I so want to encourage those of you who are not finding rejuvenation in your life, come into the Kings place He is enthralled with your beauty your King desires to have communion with you!

I AM BIBLE STUDY

1. Do you struggle with a sense of self-worth? How do you perceive this has affected the way you are able to 'keep your head upright'? If not, do you know someone who suffers in this area?
When we left ministry I had no idea who or what I was I had no sense of self worth, as I have gone through a process of healing and restoration I have come to a place where I know who I am and where I am going yet there is one struggle that I find that keeps coming back to bite me and that makes me feel that I am not worthy and that is my weight I know that this might not be an issue for my husband or children or my friends but it affects me in many ways: I lack confidence when meeting a new group for the first time and with me doing woman’s ministry talks that is on a regular bases. I feel that even though I speak on balance this is one area that trips me up, and therefore makes me hang my head. God has been so gracious to me in this respect that I can see change in a lot of areas where I had other struggles and now they are a walk in the park its just this area of my weight, please pray with me!
2. What are you most afraid of? Does this fear affect the way you move through life? (Ex. Are you overprotective with children? Afraid to take risks?)
I am afraid of car accidents and this effects my decisions sometimes when I have to decide on a speaking invitation. It takes the pleasure of seen our natural beauty around me because I am so busy watching all the cars on the road! Praise God for my wonderful husband some men might have dropped me along the road long time ago. So praise God I know that I am an over comer through Jesus Christ and I will get victory over this fear.
3. What is one of the most marvelous ways God has provided a need? I can't wait to hear your stories on this one!
We where a theology college and had to go on a trip into Africa we had no income and really had to rely on sponsors but our sponsors had already given over and above what they could give and we needed about R7000.00 not sure what the is in dollars, we had a time to go home and just rest before our mission trip which needed to be paid the day we got back, in my mind I had made a decision not to go. My faith was stretched I thought to beyond what I could cope with. We got home and decide not to visit our home church we did not want to go anywhere where people looked at us with ahh shame our poor theology students (pride on our part) anyway we went to my old home church and had such a wonderful day and the pastor at that time came to my husband and said he felt the Lord commanding us to go to our own church that night. To cut a long story short we went. Mean while back on the ranch our senior pastor had received a love offering of you guessed it R7000.00 that morning and while him and his wife where spending the money in their heads the Lord spoke clearly to him to give it to us. Well he decided that this must be himself and decide to ask God for 2 things that first we must be in the service tonight (we had told him we where not coming to our church that weekend) and the praise and worship leader must stop the worship team half way and ask if anyone has a testimony as you guess it all happened and we where able to go to the missions trip and get our diploma in mission ethics. And I could go on forever but this one is one that sticks out because it was our early years when we had nothing except a dream to work for the Lord! Makes me want to grab hold of Him even tighter and say Lord here am I send me!
4. Steve Brown, a Moody Broadcasting Bible Teacher, is one of the first people I ever heard teach the concept that God was not mad at me. I grew up in a denomination that led me to believe He was in a continuous state of disappointment over my failures. How about you? Though in your heart you know God says He loves you, does Satan in your mind ever try to convince you otherwise?
I must say not growing up in a Christian home when I did get to know God it was in a church that knew the concept of God love for you and so I don’t have that problem. I however have to find peace in knowing that I could not work to make me more special (perfectionism is a pest)
5. How close are you to your own Promised Land? Not at all, 1/2 way, almost there? By this I mean the place of abundant living and effectiveness here on earth, not the ultimate fulfillment in Glory! Though I hope you are going to heaven, I don't want it to be today! :)
I think I am ½ way there, need to work on a few issues then I will, however I have found when I think I have arrived my Lord moves my goal posts so never sure if I will have it 100% before I go to Glory land.

I AM BIBLE STUDY

I am so much more grateful for what afflictions He has allowed if it will benefit you in any way. If those trials can not be redeemed by causing you to know there is hope and a resurrection for any situation, then they were simply wasted tears and we both know there is no such thing! Psalm 56:8 says,
"You have taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book? Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call; This I know, that God is for me."
I find God has gotten very strict with me. He has made it very clear that in order to fulfill any calling He has on my life, there can be no inconsistencies. Obviously I am not even beginning to suggest to you I have 'attained all this', but what I am trying to say is that God keeps me on a short leash. When I run out too far or too quickly, He jerks me back with a Holy Spirit chokehold. That will get a girls attention every single time! So if you notice I am hoarse, a lot, now you know why.And when He has us by the neck, it is only because He loves us. Remember, He is for you! He wants to make your name great, for His own Glory. If this is a current struggle, read Hebrews 12. There is no great encouragement in all of Scripture! Hebrews 12:11 reads,
"All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful, yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness."
Praise Him for a Divine Time Out! 'See to it that no root of bitterness springs up, defiling many.'(Hebrews 12:15)
His Name and yours is at stake. Let's talk about it a bit in our discussion.
Discussion Questions:
1. Have you ever experienced trials that were best dealt with "in the family" for either your reputation's sake or God's? You may still choose to leave them there, but you are welcome to share if you are comfortable.

How in season this word is, at this moment in time I can not bring myself to talk about it, but right now where I am sitting we as a family are faced with this! All I can ask is if you keep us in your prayers, as my beloved held me last night and I cried, the only reassurance we have is that is God is for us, Deut 4:31 For Jehovah your God is a merciful God; He will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them. This is the scripture I have to stand on at the moment. When I have walked through this I will share it, but of now it’s just too painful and my tears are so much that I can’t see what I am typing.
2. Have you ever found yourself in a bizarre circumstance and later were able to walk someone through the same/similar situation? Did you recognize the hand of God in it?
Oh yes he always takes our scars and turns them into stars
3. I was in my late twenties before I ever let myself believe God was for me instead of waiting to smack me upside the head every time I made a mistake. Do you truly believe God is on your side?

In Him I know I am a first class dolla but sometimes in the church I feel 2nd class and that is when I sense Him right there next to me encouraging me all the way

4. If God has ever had you in the Holy Spirit Chokehold (and who hasn't He?), how have you reacted to God's chastisement? Were you bitter? Brokenhearted? Grateful?
Can I say all of them, it went from bitter to brokenhearted and after along time to grateful, I think I am hoarse by nature now, and yes the lead is getting shorter and shorter as God moves me up higher!

5. Write a brief prayer of Thanksgiving for God's longsuffering.

Father abba Father, how awesome you are, how mindful you are of me. Father words fail me as I come bowing down before you humbled by Your grace and mercy for my life. Father thank you that even when I choose to walk away you are always there waiting and calling me back to a place under the shadow of your wing. My heart is overwhelmed by the beauty of Your holiness. Thank you so very much of never leaving me or shaming me. Love you so much me

I AM BIBLE STUDY

Lesson Nine'A Set Up for a Show Up'

Background Reading:
Exodus 5:1 - 7:7

Key Verse:"But I will harden Pharaoh's heart that I may multiply My signs and My wonders in Egypt." Exodus 7:3

We will be taking a couple of side roads during this Chapter into the lives of Rahab and the Apostle Paul. Today, however, I want us to see a Divine Set Up for a Divine Show Up. God orchestrated the harsh servitude of the Israelites and used the hardening of Pharaoh's heart 'in order to multiply His wonders in Egypt.' The Egyptians may not have heard of the God of Israel before the Exodus, but He would not remain anonymous for long!

go on over to The Preacher's Wife and become part of this awesome bible study!

Discussion Questions:
1. On a scale of 1 to 10, rate yourself on how often your conversation is seasoned with the works of the Lord on your behalf? If you speak very little of Him, is there a reason you know of? If you speak often, how do people respond?
I work in a church office so I guess its pretty high up there and even in the world I hope that I do speak up about the Lord, so I guess I could rate about a 7.5, I find that people respond well, I must admit or confess I love it when there is controversial subjects to discuss, I love to be able to go back and break open the word and wait on Father to give me revelation knowledge on the subject.
2. Have you experienced a Set Up for a Show Up when you were uncertain whether the situation was the chastisement of the Lord or a temptation of Satan?
Mmmmmmmmmm, would love to believe that its not a chastisement from the Lord but I believe we give Satan tooooo much glory sometimes, however there have been situations where its been a temptation of Satan and other times chastisement of the Lord, when we left ministry I put it all down to the temptation of Satan alluring us away from our destiny however I now see that the Father had taken us through a period of chastisement for us to grow so that now on returning to full time ministry we will be stronger much stronger then before.
3. Have you ever or are you now experiencing any Job trials where you can still not identify any wrong-doing on your part?

Shoooo this is a hard one I want to walk in assurance that I live by the spirit and not by the flesh and sometimes I want to lash out in the flesh and sadly do, I am quite frustrated in the way that people handle situations concerning things I ask them to do and later find murmuring and they are unjustified so still not sure what I did wrong, or why people would say yes to something and then complain to leadership that I am unfair in asking them to do something even though they are the ones always saying if you need my help I am here for you.
4. Apply this principle: How can my response make my God famous? Will obedience result in my sanctification and God's Glory?
The word says obedience is better than sacrifice, I believe that by been saturated in the word that when conflict situations arise we will respond out of the overflow of the Spirit of God and therefore making Our God famous! YES! Our obedience will result in my sanctification as I am obedient to the word of God as it grows and becomes a true living revelation we will see God been glorified in it.
5. Does the origin of our affliction matter in view of the fame God can gain from it?
Once again we can take it back to the word, all things work to the good of those that Love the Lord! All I can say is I am a walking testimony that Satan wanted to destroy but God has a plan and destiny for me!

I AM ONLINE BIBLE STUDY

Background Reading:
Exodus Chapter 4
Key Verses:
"That they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has appeared to you." Exodus 4:5

"I have written to you fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one."
1 John 2:14As we begin today, let's take a moment to regain our context.
In Lesson 7, we found Moses on the 'west side of the wilderness' asking God the very important question of 'who am I, but more importantly, who are You?' God re-introduced Himself to Moses as 'I AM' or 'Yahweh', a Name of God that had not yet been revealed to the children of Israel. By giving Himself this memorial name, God forever established His faithfulness to His covenant people in times past, present, and future.Too often our identity is found in a material possession or social status. When asking ourselves, 'Who am I?', be certain the answer is bound in the heart of Christ. He is everything we can not be and sufficient to fill every needy place. He is beautiful, all-knowing, strong, self-assured, and so much more so we do not have to be! When our lives are entertwined with His Spirit, we will never have to long to be more than we are, for HE IS. Praise Him!
Let's think about that in our Discussion Questions:
1. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to 'go back' to a place of shame or ridicule? How did that make you feel?
Yes gee this makes me think back and if you would allow me a moment to take a deep breath and begin… beloved and I had just been ordained into ministry when our senior preacher phone and asked us if we would assist a couple whose son was dying he was born with a rare disease called Hydrocephalus, nothing could have prepared me for the shock I was about to face, but standing there in front of me at the hospital was the man that had raped me at the tender age of 13, I remember my legs felt like lead beneath me, my throat closed in around me… and then I heard the Holy Spirit say to me have you truly forgiven him? All feelings of shame and injustice came screaming back at me, I wanted to run for cover, but right there Jesus came in and the healing that took place that day, was God inspired, I was able to move on from there and live as a complete woman, healed.

2. Is there any circumstance in your life that still has you running for cover? Share if you feel comfortable.
I have to be honest God has restored my life to a place where I have been able to face all circumstances and find healing and restoration in them. So now I run to the hiding place in the shadow of the Almighty and come out the victor by His grace.
3. When is the last time you felt like an over comer?
This weekend when beloved preached, it’s a victor in our lives!!!!!! Praise Jesus!!!
4. If you have not yet taken the serpent by the tail, are you willing to stop running, take hold and trust God to transform it into a tool for wonders?
My answer to all JUST DO IT!!!!!
5. I would like for you to write down this statement based on 1 John 2:14 somewhere you will see it often this week: "I am strong, the Word of God abides in me, and I have overcome the evil one." Memorize it. Say it over and over until you believe it. Will you do this?? Most of the time, there are no right or wrong answers, but on this one, I'm expecting a 'yes'!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Background Passages
Exodus 3:10-22

Key Verse:
"But Moses said to God, 'Who am I, that I should to to Pharaoh and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?'"
Exodus 3:11

"Who am I?"

That, girls, is a loaded question. The world tells us our identity is defined by our appearance and possessions. In a sense, the world is correct in identifying our worth as something outside ourselves. However, notice when Moses asked the question in the above referenced passage, God did not respond with a list of all Moses' qualifications. Instead He said, "I will be with you."

God is asking no less of us today than to believe He is sufficient to accomplish any and everything He could ever ask of us. He doesn't choose us because we are qualified, but because He wants to trust us with His Wonders. The thing about Wonders is that they aren't very wonderful if they do not originate from the ordinary. Let's explore this a bit in our Discussion.

Discussion Questions:

1. How would you answer the questions, "Who Am I?"
If I wanted to come across as miss super spiritual I could answer you all the right answers like I am the righteousness of Christ, I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, which would be all the correct answers but I think honesty would suffice here, first a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend just an unknown face in a crowd with one difference I am the daughter of the Most High God, do I walk in that everyday? No when storms surface, I forget the redeeming qualities of my Savior and become the world, so who am I ….. All I can say is a work in progress.
2. Have you ever been in a situation where you felt inadequate because of your lack of a 'tagline'?All the time just the other night I spoke to my beloved saying that in less then 2years I am 40 and what do I have to show for it, my fellow lady conference speakers mostly all have degrees, I look at this teaching we receive every week and I wonder how I made it thus far with no tagline. Don’t get me wrong I went to school and bible school but that was it for me I was a very young mommy and home was my school of hard knocks. So yes I don’t have a tagline when I speak at conferences and all these darling friends are so gifted and diplomed (if there is a word like that)
3. Do you have skills or position that you believe God could use mightily if only He would?Gee that is a tough one, in all honesty I don’t know how to answer this one, Maybe my gift of the gab, I would love God to use me more in that direction in speaking etc,
4. Have you ever lost a position or station in life you believe could have 'helped God out' with something He has asked you to do? If you haven't lost out, do you perhaps feel you have to gain this in order to be useful to the Kingdom?
Oh my now to see if the wounds of old are truly healed, yes when we left ministry 4years ago my life came to an abrupt holt, I was devastated I felt that if God had given us more grace (remember that is how I felt) then it would not be so difficult to walk in the calling He has for me in the woman’s ministry. I believed that because we had stepped down from ministry I was a failure and that I could have helped God out if He had kept us there. However I know that this is not the truth, God uses you no matter if you have position or not.
5. How are you with your dialogue vs. doubt conversations with God? Which does God hear most from you? I guess God and I have an agreement on the dialog situation, I have learnt to sit at His feet and be still, and believe me it is not easy as I am a real chatterbox and like to express my own opinion. In the last 25 years my walk with God has gone from one sided to a full on conversation, where I listen and He talks and I am able to chat with my Abba Father and enjoy true heart felt chats with Him

6. Do you believe God's Wonders become more wonderful if they originate in the ordinary? Any Scripture references come to mind?1Co 15:46 But not the spiritual first, but the natural; afterward the spiritual.

Yes I believe it because the word says first in the natural and then in the spiritual, I think for us human beings its easier to see the natural because we are so aware of it, even though it would be so awesome if we continually walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh, but there is still lots of construction going on in my life for me to walk completely according to the Spirit so that is why I enjoy the wonders in the ordinary…. I hope I am making sense here.

I AM - Bible Study Lesson Six

How current is your God? Is he up to date on all your issues or do you have old hurts you still hold behind your back?
God has become current in my life, but it has been a long road of restoration in my life, I have had to step out of the comfortable the well known into a place where if I don’t hold tight the Masters hand I will surely fall, I stand in awe of who my God is in my life daily.
2. Has the enemy ever told you there are situations that are 'old news' that are better left stuffed down? Or perhaps because they were so long ago they can't possibly be affecting you now?
Until recently the enemy has made me almost think that my hurt was my right, that I could hold on to it justify it, my hurt became my comfort, if my hurt was not around I thought something was wrong, WHAT a LIE the enemy never wants you to walk into freedom as long as he has you believing its better to hold on to that hurt the longer he keeps you from fulfilling your destiny.
3. In the matter of established authority, does God truly reign in your life? Where are you when He calls your name?
I am believing that I am right here where the Father wants me when He calls but as I am human all I can do is hold on to the trust that because by faith I am where he wants me to be, I will hear Him when He calls. That my ears are near the Fathers breast that I will be able to hear the voice of Abba calling and showing me the way I should go.
4. Do you ever feel God has forgotten you in your 'west side of the wilderness'?
In all honesty, yes I have felt that way as I believed the giants standing in front of me teasing me instead of focusing on the Father and walking out of the wilderness and into the Promised Land.
5. Have you ever experienced a time of cleansing where God has illuminated and rejuvenated you? If not, do you find you are in need of this now?
Yes when we left ministry 4 years ago it was a time of cleansing for me, it has been a time where I could met God anew not out of what I need from Him or what I could do for Him, but a place where I have learnt to take a Sabbath rest to find my Father in that quite place, where I could find rest for my soul. It has been a time of great restoration and a time of finding my true identity in Him not in been a preachers wife now with the door open to go back into ministry, I am humbled by the future not walking in pride. As we face the challenges that lay ahead the preparation I am in no hurry to step out ahead of God but to constantly just walking in the Fathers footsteps.
