LET YOUR FEET DANCE

I was at a coffee shop with a lady the other day and they have different posters up about dancing and the one that caught my eye was “dancing is what feet do when they day dream”
I thought about it a lot because as a young girl that was my favorite pastime to daydream, and I wondered about it the ability to dream comes from the Lord, It says that He speaks to us in dreams and visions. I thought about it a lot and found that many women have lost their ability to dream.
This morning as I sat and drank my cup of fresh filtered coffee on my patio I started to daydream about many things one thing that got my day dreaming going was to travel, to go to a beautiful place where there is sunny skins and beautiful beaches where the people are passionate about life.
I so want to go to Greece and have a romantic holiday with my darling Fred, to walk along the beach in my white gypsy dress with a straw hat on sipping a virgin mohita not sure of the spelling there.

Girls my challenge for the week is to dream to set time aside and just daydream, when last have you day dreamed?

SPIRIT OF FUN

The spirit of Fun!
Sometimes we need to let loose and just enjoy life, having a wonderful time with your girl friends. I love to watch people and when I go to a coffee shop, I love to watch girl friends together have you ever watched how they all seem to talk at once and then the hands go and the noise and laughter is almost like a moth to the flame. I find myself drawn to them, wanting to get in on the latest going on in their lives.
“Sing, o daughter of Zion, Shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad ad rejoice with all your heart…” Zephaniah 3:14
Today I long to be surrounded by my dolla’s to rejoice in my King with them. Today if you live close your dolla friends grab a cuppa and rejoice in the King and enjoy the spirit of fun, even if people think you have escaped out of the rubber room.

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE EVENING - NOT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING!

Yesterday was one of those days that you just bury in your heart and take it out and treasure it when ever you are having a blue day. I was invited to go a attend a ladies evening out, which I think is one of the nicest ways for Christian ladies to spend the evening out. Yvette a precious friend of mine and one of the most put together dolla’s I have ever met, and I met at Mug and Bean a coffee shop in Rivoina square and just sipped skinny cappuccinos and chatted but we ran out of time, we have both been pastors wives that where very involved and so we just chatted about the absence we sometimes feel not in leading a work but the wonderful relationships you build up we are both people that believe in mentoring other and taking the girls to a place where they can see destiny before them. So it was just wonderful.]
Then we went to Rivers Church I have spoken about them in a previous post, the church that rocked, when we got there we surrounded by about 500 ladies it was phenomenal. they had a pampering room where you could get a massage or a manicure, then you went up stairs and before I carry on the theme for the evening was “death by chocolate”, we came up the stairs and call you could smell was chocolate, not something you want to be smelling when you are on your first zone for weigh-less, there where tables of chocolate cakes with pink rose petals and wonderful chocolate balls, there was a chocolate fountain and lots of other chocolate drinks and chocolates as far as the eye could see.
Yvette and I went and found a chair and sat to continue our conversation, and then I saw some one that I had met when I preached at a ladies conference about 6 years ago and we spend sometime catching up and will be meeting for coffee soon. It was so good to be surrounded by women that are like minded.
The worship was wonderful as always I just love to worship Jesus, He is the one that makes life worth living, and their choir is out of this world, what a spirit of excellence that this church practices on all levels. There was no focus on the band it was all on the Lord!
Wilma Olivier that leads the church with her husband Andre came up and handed out some gifts and the most divine Bulgarian chocolate tea spoons you put them in hot milk they dissolve and Walla you have hot chocolate! She spoke about the up and coming conference in September which I will be attending come hell or high waters. (lol hope this saying doesn’t offend anyone).
The speaker is a pastor that comes from Hill songs in Australia and they have come to plant a campus in cape town so wow! Her name is Lucinda and she is this tiny spitfire for God, she spoke about the conversation Jesus had with His disciples when he asked in Matthew “who do the people say I am, then turned later to Simon peter and asked who do you say I am” the long and tall of the story was as soon as we start to know Jesus in an intimate relationship he shows us who we really are. Simon peter meant a small stone but peter meant a huge mountain rock and on that Jesus built his church and he is still building it today on people (girls) that will allow Jesus to change them from small stone to big mountain rock!
That is what I want for today is to see what Jesus is going to do with Deborah where is He taking me, glory girls is all I can say.

Tea time

So yesterday was my first day back at work, besides someone having a party in the church office kitchen and leaving all the dishes for 2 weeks, the day was uneventful. By the time I got home I was not in the mood for anything except to have a nice cup of tea in one of my Christmas presents for my friend Rene, I just love tea in a cup and saucer, I am not a mug girl when it comes to tea, must be done in a teapot and I would rather not drink tea then drink it out of a mug, so just to show you my newest treat when it comes tea here is the picture. Don't you thinks its cute, teapot and cup all bundled into one affair. ahh its heaven to be a lady of the manor drink high tea with a twist of class. So this is just a short note soon I will get into the writing mood and then my fingers will be flying across this keyboard, just need to get the holiday cobwebs out of my mind and then beware for I have become addicted to my blog.

KIDS ON LOVE

Touching words from the mouth of babes.
What does Love mean?
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"
Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8

"My mommy loves me more than anybodyYou don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)
Karen - age 7
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."

GIRLS HAVE THEIR SAY

These are a few girls that where at the spring breakfast we hosted where I shared on fragrance. I thought I would share it with you, loved what each one said:

Melanie Grant Red Door - Always rushing in, rushing out. I am also someone who is on the lookout for opportunities - open doors. It's a fairly strong, overpowering smell at times - and I can be loud and a little too much for people to handle.

Mel Olivier If I were a perfume it would be a light, floral fragrance. I am a 'softie' and like pretty, feminine things.

Phumzile Biyela If I were a perfume I would be called "Peace" because I love peace and whenever people next to me are at loggerheads with each other, I try all I can to be a peacemaker. I love peace more than anything. In fact I would rather have nothing in the world but peace.

Belinda Poupard If I were a perfume I would be a scented bubblebath, because I'm bubbly and love pretty things.

Kerry Benade Tommy Girl - because I am still in my mid 20's, not mature and sophisticated like "Beautiful" and "Pleasures". I am still happy-go-lucky, no children and in a way immature, I am not a girlie-girl, more a natural girl, girl-next-door type ... so I think that would suite me best

Eloise Olivier I would be "Beautiful" from Estee Lauder. Its a soft, gentle and long lasting fragrance, but also has a deeper smell that leaves your mind thinking. I think it represents me because I am a soft, gentle person but inside there's a whole deeper ME!

Elinor Olivier Happiness by Clinique - It leaves a fragrance that represents youth, but joyful and mature. Something I deeply desire for my life and others, true happiness. When life throws me lemons, Lord teach me how to make lemon juice.

WOMAN OF EVERY AGE

Just for fun:

A dear darling dolla of mine send this to me as I am doing some MCing at a ladies thing soon and want some fun girly thing so here goes:

FEMALE GEOGRAPHY

Between 20 – 30, a woman is like Africa: wild, naturally beautiful and full of mysterious fertile deltas

Between 30-40, a woman is like America: well developed and open for trade, especially for those with stacks of money.

Between 40-50, a woman is like India: sensual, relaxed, in full bloom and aware of her beauty.

Between 50-60, a woman is like France: deliciously mature, still a pleasant destination to visit.

Between 60-70, a woman is like Yugoslavia: a lost war, haunted by the mistakes of the past. Major reconstruction work is mostly the only answer.

Between 70-74, a woman is like Russia: vast, with undefined frontier, the cold climate puts off any potential visitors.

Between 75-80, a woman is like Mongolia: a glorious past, great conquests, but without a future.

After 80, a women is like Afghanistan or the North Pole many know its whereabouts, but no one dares venture there…

WEEK END DELIGHT

What a wonderful weekend I have had I thought I would just do one big blog called weekend Delight, lets start with Friday after a wonderful women’s meeting on Friday which carried on later then I thought and only got back to the office at 12 when I should be at the office at about 11;30, Our senior pastor called me from home and had a gift for me dollas not even three blogs ago did I express my desire for something that would help me a lot in ministry as I do most of my thinking at night and get a lot of creative ideas for ladies meetings and speaking engagements, which I then have to pen down on paper next to my bed and then come into the office and type everything as I don’t have a computer at home after Markie sparkie decided to make our computer faster and blow the mother board, anyway the other night as I was looking at my speaking engagements for next year I thought I would just brush up on some of my talks as many of these ladies have not heard my talk on fragrance or on 1 high heel 1 slipper and I was quite happy with this I felt the Holy Spirit impressing it on my heart to do a new series on “positioning yourself prophetically” I was a bit unhinged at the least to say and I just said to my father Lord I really would love to do this but I will only do it if I have a computer to work from at home as I really don’t want to be away from them when I am working on a talk or something of that nature. Well dolla’s I was not been arrogant when I spoke to my father it was just a daughter expressing her desire, our senor pastor has given me a laptop to use until I have my own and I can work on it as long as I need to. I was jumping up and down with a lot of yelling and praising Jesus, what an awesome God we serve, I am so blessed by this and I will now start preparing for this teaching I am a bit nervous as I want to remain scriptural correct at all times with this teaching I am just trusting for a wonder out pour of Gods Spirit as I start to research and meditate on the scriptures I trust God that He will enable me to receive revelation as I start to dig into the word, pray with me for this and I will keep you all updated on the project.

Friday evening was a good mom daughter night as Mark was visiting Cameron a good friend of our son whom we love dearly and he was spending the evening we don’t allow them to spend a evening out with just anyone but we know the family and we know that they have the same family values as we do, anyway we got some ham and cheese rolls at our favorite little tearoom and then a DVD and just vegetated under the blankets in the family room dad worked late as he had something to finish up before Saturday so that we could go and say good bye to my dear precious dolla friend you can read about her here, we went to bed quite early and it was a goodtime of rest and relaxation,

Saturday morning something wonderful happened in my beloved Fred’s life and once I am released to tell you about it I will as it will change a lot in our life, so just carry him in prayer as he has so tough decisions to face in this week coming. So we road down to Durban and met up with Pauline and then we hit Durban’s streets as my fred and I are going to a bollywood show on Friday night that been our usual date night that could not take place this week but he made up for it today, we went into the middle of Durban and found the most amazing store that sells all the bling and extravagant clothing that can only come from India and I spend about three hours in the shop trying on the outfits until I decided to look at the price and nearly died they where as extravagant as the clothes however Fred just said I want you to have the whole outfit from shoes to the bangles so girls I went mad I bought the most beautiful dolla shoes you can imagine covered in rhinestones the top is cover in hand sown beads and the bangles are just amazing how they capture the light and they look like one big chunk of diamonds on the end of my arm. This is definitely one of those outfits that will bring a lot of attention but it makes me feel like a princess in it, we even got my Fred a whole outfit for the evening which was amazing and with his new hair style and glass all I can say is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm cant wait to get him alone, after all that we where so hungry and just needed to eat which we did at a wonderful little coffee shop and just had good friendship time with my precious friend it was good to speak into her life about marriage as she is about to embark on a journey that could lead to marriage and so for us to speak to her as a couple was wonderful, we are trusting God that in the year to come that we will be able to minister together as husband and wife on this subject as we both believe that we can minister on this subject as God has blessed with an awesome marriage and we give God all the glory for this.

Today is Sunday and what an awesome time we had in the house, the worship was wonderful and the word just encouraged us the powerful impartation of faith into our lives, afterwards we had our family indaba which takes place once a month when we as a church family picnic together and just have fun and relax and they guys and some girls play sport together, so my dear friends I just want to give God a big thank you for a truly wonderful weekend.

WONDERFUL SATURDAY

We had a wonderful awesome fabulous Saturday as I opened my home to cappuccino, chocolate and chit chat around the word, for those of you that know my history coming from a background of living in a manse which I had to always get permission from the eldership to even change the colors of my walls to a place where we own our home now all ours belong to no one except us, you will know that I have become very private in my home its my sanctuary and God has been working in me hard and gentle at times to be healed and restored, which is all a work in progress. So Saturday for me was a big step I felt like the first time I ever had to preach and was so nervous but God is gracious to me always as we know our Father to be!

Normally if I have people over I snap at my children snap at my beloved Fred and become one big bunch of nerves, (perfectionism gets hold of me) this time round I was well rested in my Spirit and soul and even my body (thanks bekkie for letting me sleep in) when I woke I went and fetched my roses from my darling dolla Shirley she can get any rose you can think of. Then off to town with Kirsty to buy chocolates and finally home where I made breakfast for all the kids and then set up, by the time the ladies started to arrive I felt so excited and knew this will be the beginning of great things to come. When I invited the ladies purely at random so if you are reading this and did not know about it, it not because you weren’t invite I just never got round to emailing you all! But know this you are always welcome. I asked them to bring a scripture that they felt God had been stirring in their hearts this past week. Wow the thread was all there…. FAITH… one of the ladies that shared was so awesome in sharing how God had shown her in her own life the scripture in Luke 6: where Jesus feed the multitude with 5 loaves and 2 fish.

The word said that it was late – even when we feel that the hour has passed for Jesus to do something for us its not.
The boy only had the 5 loaves and 2 fish – even when we think we have nothing Jesus takes our nothing and transforms it into a glorious event!

I have over shot what I was going to say but it was so wonderful just to sit with a group of like minded ladies that love the Lord and just find out where we are all at. To create a platform to discuss daily struggles we all face. I just want to say thank you Father for the awesome way that your presence was felt by all.

“Faith makes the up look good, the outlook bright, the in look favorable and the future glorious.” Raymond Edman

I can’t wait till next month when we can just enjoy cappuccino, chocolate and chit chat around the word!

DOES THE SHOES AND HANDBAG MAKETH THE WOMAN?

This morning I was getting ready for work, and my beloved Fred was watching me as he does everyday of our lives together, his question to me was so funny so who are you today? I looked at him wondering what he was talking about; he explained that the kids and he had come up with different names for what I wore, just by the shoes and handbags I wear!

As I was transferring my goodies from one bag to the next I asked him so what style is this? Oh that ones your Nigella Lawson style, I still don’t understand I said how could you know what handbag she is using.

So here goes his explanation of what a woman’s shoes and handbag tell him:

When I wear this pretty big pink bag I always wear my hair curl he says like a Nigella look with the little dress and pink cardigan over it. Your shoes are high heeled and legs without stockings (we are nearing spring) can you believe this man of mine

So I asked him about my other looks which I must admit I am not going to share on the world wide web….. Too personal (hee hee)

My dolla look is my jeans little t-shirt and denim jacket with my pink boots with my denim handbag with the entire jewelry store on it.

My preacher lady look is my black and white tailored suite with black and white shoes and little white handbag.

And so the list continued it got me think to what do I want the world to see when I go out?

And what does Jesus see in me as I go out?

I know that I want to be clothed in His glory I want a crown of beauty; I want to be bathed in His righteousness. I want to have the shoes of readiness for the gospel of goodness firmly fixed on my feet. In my handbag I want to carry love, peace, joy, kindness all the fruits of the spirit. I want my bag to be big enough to carry my children’s joy in to take it out and look at it, to bury deep with in its pockets all their hurt so as to protect them. I want to have time for coffee and chocolates with my girlfriends and then even more time and treasures for my darling husband Fred.

Dollas what are you caring in your handbag today is it weighing you down or are you able to throw away all the burdens and only carry the peace of God in your bag. Are the shoes you wearing taking you to place you shouldn’t be or are they firm in God’s word grounded in the knowledge of who you are in Him no matter what outfit you wear and whose shoes are reflecting off you!

Whether you look like Barbie or a country girl it’s not the shoes or the hand bag that maketh the woman it’s the stead fast assurance of your hope in Christ that makes you the beauty to all around us!
